Privacy Policy

Version 1.0Last updated: October 2026
Finance Command is a personal finance decision tool built and operated by Vaelta Labs. It helps you plan budgets, track bills and debts, and get AI-assisted verdicts on financial decisions. By using Finance Command at fincommand.vaeltalabs.com and any related services (the “Service”), you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You choose what to enter. Depending on the features you use, that can include:
  • Account details: your email address, a password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form), and an optional name
  • Financial profile: income, expenses, savings, emergency fund, and risk preferences
  • Debts, credit cards, bills, budgets, envelopes, goals, a want list, paycheck records, net worth snapshots, and spending entries (including grocery and vacation spending)
  • Decisions you submit for evaluation and the verdicts and reasoning returned for them, plus any messages you type into AI chat or simulation features
  • Household details, if you create or join a household
  • Optional military and pay-related details (such as branch, pay grade, and years of service), if you choose to enter them
  • Feedback you send us through the in-app feedback form

We do not connect to your bank. Finance Command does not pull data from your financial institutions; everything in the Service is information you entered yourself.

When you use the Service, our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically process:
  • Your IP address, browser type, device type, and request timestamps (standard web server and network logs)
  • Technical error reports sent to our error-monitoring tool when something fails on our servers. We configure it not to send personally identifying information by default
  • A usage record of how many AI tokens your account has used in the current pay period, so we can apply fair-use limits

We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on the Service. Before you create an account, the signup preview sends only the numbers you type into it and is not linked to you; we count anonymous preview and signup events to understand how the preview performs, without storing your IP address or the amounts you entered.

We use your information to:
  • Provide the Service: calculate budgets, surplus, debt payoff, and other figures, and show them back to you
  • Generate AI-assisted verdicts, explanations, and suggestions about your financial decisions
  • Operate your household, if you use that feature
  • Keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and diagnose errors
  • Respond to your feedback and support requests
  • Improve the Service using aggregated, non-identifying information
  • Record that you accepted our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Finance Command uses artificial intelligence to help interpret your situation. When you use an AI-powered feature, the Service sends a request, built from the financial figures relevant to that feature (for example income, bills, debts, goals, and the decision you are evaluating), to our internal AI gateway. The gateway forwards it to third-party AI model providers, currently OpenAI and Groq, which generate the response.
  • We do not include your name or email address in these requests. However, anything you type in free text (such as a decision description or chat message) is sent as you wrote it, so please avoid entering information you do not want processed
  • Calculations such as totals, balances, and percentages are done by our own code, not by AI. AI is used for reasoning and explanation
  • AI providers process requests under their own terms and privacy practices, which we do not control
  • AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. It is informational only; see our Terms of Service for important limits

We store the decisions you submit and the AI-generated verdicts and reasoning in your account so you can review them. Simulation chats are stored in your account as well.

We share information only as needed to run the Service:
  • Infrastructure providers: Vercel (web hosting), Render (application servers), and Neon (database hosting) process and store data on our behalf
  • AI providers: OpenAI and Groq, as described above
  • Error monitoring: Sentry receives technical error reports from our servers
  • Google Fonts: your browser loads fonts from Google, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads
  • Other ATLAS apps: Finance Command is part of the ATLAS Suite from Vaelta Labs. If you use a connected ATLAS app such as AI Collector, we exchange your user ID and email, and for some features limited financial signals (such as a need for cash, with amounts and card nicknames), with that app through authenticated internal connections
  • Per diem lookups: if you use the TDY per diem tool, the location you type is sent to the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) per diem service
  • Your household: if you join a household, other members can see shared household information, and your income, expenses, and debts are combined with theirs in shared budget views and in the figures used for AI analysis. Credit cards stay individual to their owner
  • Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, Vaelta Labs, or the public
  • Business transfers: if Vaelta Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred, and we will tell you if that changes how it is handled
Finance Command does not set cookies. It does use your browser’s storage, which works like a cookie in that it saves small amounts of data on your device:
  • Sign-in token (local storage): keeps you signed in. It expires after a short period and is removed when you sign out
  • Display preferences (local storage): remembers your selected theme and display mode
  • Signup preview value (session storage): carries the income figure you typed into the signup preview into onboarding. It is cleared when used or when you close the tab
  • Offline cache: the installable app (PWA) stores app files and a temporary copy of some recent responses on your device so the app can load quickly and work with a poor connection

These items are strictly necessary for the Service to work or to remember settings you chose, so we do not show a cookie banner. You can clear this data any time in your browser settings; doing so signs you out and resets your preferences.

We keep your account information and the financial data you entered for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and associated data from our production database. Copies may remain in routine backups for a limited time before they are overwritten. We may keep a record of your acceptance of our terms, and anonymous event counts that are not linked to you, as long as needed for legal and business purposes.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), one-way password hashing, per-account access controls so that each request is limited to the signed-in user’s own data, and restricted internal credentials between our services. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and sign out on shared devices.
You can view and edit most of your information inside the Service. To request a copy of your data, correction of your data, or deletion of your account, email privacy@vaelta.com. We will confirm your identity and respond within a reasonable time. These requests are currently handled by hand rather than through a self-service button.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to know what personal information we hold, to request its deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We honor these requests to the extent the law requires. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Finance Command is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us at privacy@vaelta.com and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the Service changes. When we make a material change, we will update the version and date at the top of this page and ask existing users to review and accept the new version the next time they sign in. See also our Terms of Service and Accessibility Statement.
